It's a sweet story with a chewy center.
Brian Fitzgerald and Iris Maertens wrote and illustrated The Moon Candy Rebellion to share a very slim shelf in children's literature with books that champion the courage to speak up, take action, and lead when the world is misbehaving.
We looked to Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, The Adventures of Pippi Longstockings, and a handful of other great books that celebrate the rebel, the unconventional thinker, the beautiful disruptor.
The world needs more grown ups with the kind of optimism, confidence, and creativity shown by "One little girl who didn't think it quite right..."
The Moon Candy Rebellion isn't yet available... unless you want to help us get it ready for the world. We're seeking early readers and beta testers to help us get the eBook ready for prime time, and to crowd source some unconventional thinking in getting a hard cover version out into the world. Game?
A New Power Fable
It's a story in which New Power -- sharing, diversity, community, and connection -- triumphs over old power: consumerism, isolation, and me-ism. (We know, that's a lot of ISMs for a kid's book, but trust us, it's a bedtime story, not a lecture.)
If you'd like to help get this story out into the world,
you're a Moon Candy Rebel and we need you.
